Setting the World on Fire

Why It’s Gone

I am going to keep a few stories from the first issue, supplemented with new content but if you want to read anything not on the site, please feel free to download a colorized PDF. I used to sell it but I think I've reached the point where I would be happy if someone else enjoyed it and I have never been motivated by profit. I also have been politely asked to remove the names of my family and out of respect for them, I have. However, if there was an asshole that I based the shit out of and used their real name, that will remain here in perpetuity. In many ways I feel like this version of the web site will be the one to survive me and I give no quarter to people who have wronged me. Especially Jeff Koyen. If you are reading this, Jeff, I want to you know that I think you are a fucking asshole. I hope people google you and find this and ask you why this guy on the internet keeps shitting on you for something you did last century. Because it was egregious, bro. That's why.

One of the stories that got me the most press from my first issue was called, "My Best Friend is a Junkie!" It was true at the time and it is probably still true but my anger has softened to pity, so guess what, Junkie? If you are reading this (and I am sure you are), I am not writing about you anymore. You go live your shitty life and I will live well because it's the best revenge. I mean, if you really want to read it, you can download the PDF of the first issue and read it. Even though no one buys music on CD anymore, I decided to include my review of cover song CDs because I love cover songs and I am hoping that it may attract some new readers who also like covers. The few stories that I cut are not worth my effort so if you really want to see them, get that PDF, yo.

If you really wanted a copy of the print edition, I did see one on eBay not too long ago. I asked the seller where they got it and they said that it came from an estate sale. So, I guess a really old fan of the zine finally died, allowing one copy of the issue back into circulation. I have less than 10 copies left and don't want to sell them, so if you must have one, start searching.
